Extract specific pages or split a PDF into parts
Have a 100-page PDF and only need pages 5 to 20? Or want to split a large PDF into chapters of 10 pages each? Upload the file, then choose to extract a page range (e.g., 5-20) or split every N pages. The tool creates separate PDFs that you can download individually or as a zip. It's useful for breaking down a large scanned textbook, separating a combined form, or isolating the pages you actually need from a giant document.
When splitting saves you
- An SSC admit card PDF has multiple pages, but you only need to print the page with your photo. Extract just that page.
- A bank statement is 50 pages, but the loan officer only wants the last 6 months. Split out those months.
- Dividing a research paper into sections for different group members. Split by chapter breaks if the page numbers are known.
Tip: The tool doesn't remove pages permanently from the original; it creates new PDFs with the extracted or split content. Your original file stays untouched.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I split by bookmarks or headings?
No, the split is based on page numbers only. If your PDF has internal bookmarks, you'd need to note the page numbers and then enter them here.
Does splitting reduce file size?
Each extracted part will be smaller than the original because it has fewer pages. The total size of all parts might be slightly larger due to overhead, but that's normal.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server when I split it?
No. The splitting happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your file never leaves your device, which makes this safe for private documents like bank statements or ID cards.
What's the maximum file size or page count I can split?
There's no hard limit set by the tool itself, but very large files (500+ pages or 100MB+) may be slow depending on your device's memory, since everything is processed locally in the browser.
Can I extract multiple separate page ranges at once?
Yes, in range mode you can enter multiple ranges and individual pages separated by commas, like 1-3,5,8, and the tool combines them into a single extracted PDF.
