Combine several PDFs into one file

Got multiple PDFs, scanned chapters, invoices, or form pages, that need to be a single document? Drag them all onto the tool in the order you want them merged, and hit merge. The tool stitches them end to end without altering the content inside each file. The resulting PDF downloads immediately. It's handy when a portal allows only one upload but you have three separate certificates, or when you want to share a complete set of documents as a neat package.

Real situations

Tip: The order in the list is the order in the final PDF, and there's no drag-to-reorder, so add files in the sequence you want. Double-check before merging. The tool doesn't add page numbers automatically, use the Add Page Numbers tool afterwards if you need them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a file size limit?

It works best with files under 50 MB each. Merging several large PDFs might slow down your browser, but for typical document sizes it's smooth.

Does merging affect the quality of the PDFs?

No, the pages are inserted as they are. Text remains selectable if it was selectable in the source, and image quality is unchanged.

Can I change the order of the files after adding them?

There's no drag-to-reorder in the file list, so add your PDFs in the order you want them merged. If you need to fix the sequence, clear the list and re-add the files in the correct order.

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?

No. Merging happens entirely in your browser using the pdf-lib library, so your files never leave your device.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Not directly. The tool can't open encrypted files, so remove the password first (with a tool like Unlock PDF) before merging.
