Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the recorder not working on my iPhone or Safari?
Safari on iOS has limited support for MediaRecorder. For best results, use Chrome on a desktop or Android device. We are monitoring browser updates to support iOS as soon as it becomes available.
What file format does the recorder save in?
Most browsers save as WebM. Some (like older Firefox versions) may use OGG. Both formats play in VLC, Chrome, and most modern media players.
Is there a time limit for recordings?
No hard limit is enforced by the tool. However, very long recordings (over an hour) may consume significant memory. For long sessions, we recommend saving periodically.
Is Voice Recorder free and private?
Yes — it is 100% free, needs no sign‑up, and everything runs in your browser; your data never leaves your device.
