How to Use What Is My IP

  1. Open the tool – your public IPv4 address is fetched automatically from the ipify.org service and displayed in large text as soon as the page loads.
  2. View additional details – the tool also attempts to fetch your IPv6 address, and shows your browser user agent, screen resolution, and timezone (all read locally).
  3. Copy your IP – click the “Copy IP” button to copy your IPv4 address to the clipboard for sharing with tech support or for configuration.
  4. Understand what your IP reveals – the tool explains that your IP shows your approximate city and ISP, but not your name, phone number, or exact address.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my IP address stored or logged when I use this tool?

No. The tool fetches your IP via the free ipify.org API, which processes the request to return your IP. Toolzo does not store, log, or share your IP address or any other data. The ipify service itself does not retain logs of your request.

Why does my IP show a different city than where I actually am?

IP geolocation databases map IP addresses to the ISP's nearest data centre or network hub, not your physical location. For example, a Jio user in Pune may show up as Mumbai. This is normal and does not mean your device is compromised.

Can I hide my IP address?

Yes. Using a VPN, proxy, or the Tor browser will mask your real IP address and show a different one to websites. This tool will display the IP of the VPN or proxy you are connected through.

Is What Is My IP free and private?

Yes — it is 100% free and needs no sign‑up. The IP lookup itself uses a free external service (ipify), and nothing is stored on our servers.
