Image Cropper
Crop any image visually and download it. Files stay on your device.

Cut out the part of the photo you actually want
Drag the corners of the crop box to select the area you want to keep. The Aspect ratio dropdown offers five presets, Free, 1:1, 16:9, 4:3, and 3:4, and the box locks to whichever you pick; there's no field to type a custom ratio. The cropped image always downloads as a PNG, regardless of the format you uploaded. It's freeform cropping without the complexity of Photoshop, and it's enough for most quick edits.
Why crop?
- Removing the messy background from a product photo before putting it on OLX or Meesho. A clean crop gets more buyer interest.
- Making a passport-style photo from a full-body picture. The closest preset here is 3:4, near but not an exact match for the common 3.5x4.5 cm passport ratio, so use Free and match the pixel ratio manually if you need it exact.
- Fixing a scanned document where the edges have shadows or extra paper. Crop to just the document area for a clean PDF.
- Instagram's square format. The 1:1 crop ensures nothing gets cut off when you post.
Tip: If you need a precise circular crop (like for a profile picture overlay), use the circle crop tool. This one crops rectangles only, but you can combine it with the circle crop by first cropping to a square, then making it round.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does cropping reduce file size?
Usually yes, because you're cutting away pixels. The remaining area is smaller in dimensions and data.
Can I undo the crop?
The original file stays untouched on your device. The tool downloads a new cropped version, so you can always go back to the original.
Can I set a custom aspect ratio?
No, only the five presets in the dropdown, Free, 1:1, 16:9, 4:3, and 3:4, are available. There's no field to type a custom ratio like 3.5:4.5.
What file format does the cropped image download as?
Always PNG, regardless of what format you uploaded. If you need a JPEG, run the downloaded PNG through the Image Converter tool afterward.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Cropping runs entirely in your browser using the Cropper.js library, so your photos never leave your device.
