Bill Split Calculator
Split restaurant bills, trips, or group expenses fairly. Add tip, assign items, and see who owes whom.
Advanced: Itemized Split
Add people, then items, and assign who consumed what.
How to Use Bill Split Calculator
- Enter the total bill – type the amount and choose your currency symbol (₹, $, €, or £). The Indian Rupee (₹) is the default.
- Add tip percentage – click one of the quick tip chips (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%) or enter a custom percentage. The tip is calculated on the bill amount.
- Choose split method – for equal split, enter the number of people and click “Calculate Equal Split”. For itemised split, add people's names, then add each item with its price and select who consumed it.
- See who owes what – the tool shows each person's share, including tip and tax. In itemised mode, it tells you exactly who paid for what and how to settle up.
Benefits of Bill Split Calculator
- End the awkward “tu mera kitna hua” conversation at restaurants – the calculator gives an exact, fair split in seconds.
- Itemised mode handles cases where one person didn't drink or ordered a cheaper dish, so no one overpays for what they didn't consume.
- Tip calculation is built in – you don't have to manually figure out 10% or 15% of the bill before splitting.
- Works for trips too: pool petrol, accommodation, and food expenses, then split equally or proportionally among the group.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I split the bill if some people paid for different items and one person paid the whole bill?
Yes. Enter all items and assign them to the people who consumed them. The calculator shows how much each person owes the payer. The settlement lines tell the payer exactly who owes them how much.
Does the calculator include GST and service charges in the split?
Enter the final bill amount including all taxes and charges. The calculator splits the total you provide. It does not calculate tax separately – simply input the grand total from your receipt.
Can I split a bill where different people paid for different shared items (like a trip)?
The current version assumes one payer for the entire bill. For trips with multiple payers, you can add all expenses into the total and split equally, or process each expense separately and combine the results manually.
Is Bill Split Calculator free and private?
Yes — it is 100% free, needs no sign‑up, and everything runs in your browser; your data never leaves your device.
