Zakat Calculator
Calculate your Zakat obligation (2.5% of net zakatable wealth) if it meets the Nisab threshold.
How to Use Zakat Calculator
- Enter your cash and bank balances. Include all savings, current account balances and cash in hand.
- Add gold and silver holdings. Input grams owned and the current market rate per gram. The calculator values them automatically.
- Include investments, inventory and receivables. Stocks, mutual funds, business inventory and money owed to you all count towards zakatable wealth. Subtract immediate debts that are due within a year.
- Click Calculate. The tool checks if your net wealth exceeds the nisab threshold (using the silver standard by default) and, if it does, calculates zakat at 2.5%.
Benefits of Zakat Calculator

- Automatically compares your net wealth against both gold and silver nisab thresholds and uses the silver standard as the safer, more charitable floor.
- Calculates exactly 2.5% of net zakatable wealth, giving a precise figure you can set aside for distribution.
- Completely private; your financial details are processed locally and never stored or shared.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is nisab and why are there two values?
Nisab is the minimum wealth threshold that makes you liable for zakat. It is defined as 87.48 grams of gold or 612.36 grams of silver. Many scholars recommend using the silver standard because it is lower, bringing more wealth into the obligation and benefiting more recipients.
Do I pay zakat on jewellery I wear?
The majority scholarly view is that all gold and silver, whether worn or stored, is zakatable if the total weight exceeds nisab. Some scholars differ; follow the guidance of your trusted religious authority.
What about money in a fixed deposit or PPF?
These are zakatable as they represent wealth you own. Include the current value or the amount you would receive if you encashed them, provided a lunar year has passed on that wealth.
Is Zakat Calculator free and private?
Yes — it is 100% free, needs no sign‑up, and everything runs in your browser; your data never leaves your device.
